All are welcome to Wassail Horfield Organic Community Orchard on Saturday 19th January 2013, 2 - 4pm

'Wassail' comes from the Anglo-Saxon waes haeil - to be healthy. Wassailing apple trees is a way of encouraging a good crop. Traditionally taking place after dark on Old Twelfth Night (17 January), wassailing could also occur on other days around Christmas and the New Year.

The orchard welcomes one and all to wassail our trees.  Bring ribbons, clouties, and shining things to dress the branches. Toast the new year with mulled orchard juice and homemade cakes. Make merry with Pigsty Morris and Bristol Voices.
